Governance
The purpose of the Chapter is to promote the practice of business analysis in Malta, raise the profile of the profession, and represent the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) at a local level. The Chapter is led by elected officers who are appointed by Chapter members during the Annual General Meeting and entrusted with guiding its development and activities.
The Chapter leadership meets regularly not only to oversee governance and the general affairs of the organisation, but also to shape strategy, plan events, coordinate professional development initiatives, and support engagement with members, partners, and the wider business community.
Chapter Objectives
The IIBA Malta Chapter is a local, non-profit professional association established to serve the business analysis community in Malta, while operating in alignment with the standards, principles, and requirements of IIBA®. The Chapter is governed by its bylaws and internal governance framework, which set out its purpose, structure, officer responsibilities, membership arrangements, and decision-making processes.
The Chapter exists to support the advancement of business analysis as a recognised professional discipline in Malta. It provides a local platform through which professionals, students, and organisations can connect, share knowledge, and contribute to the growth of the field.
The work of the Chapter is closely aligned with the wider mission of IIBA®, which is to support and advance the practice of business analysis through recognised standards, professional development, knowledge sharing, and internationally respected certification pathways. IIBA®’s global vision of being the leading professional association for business analysis is reflected locally through the Chapter’s efforts to build a strong, credible, and sustainable community in Malta.
Our Mission
The mission of the IIBA Malta Chapter is to promote awareness of the value of business analysis across Malta’s economic sectors and to support the continued development of the profession locally.
The Chapter aims to encourage a deeper understanding of business analysis practices and contribute to the development of the profession through discussion, learning, and alignment with recognised standards such as the BABOK® Guide.
It also seeks to create and sustain a professional community in which members and other practitioners can exchange experiences, build relationships, and contribute to the growth of business analysis within organisations and across industries in Malta.
In support of professional development, the Chapter promotes business analysis certification pathways and intends to organise events, learning sessions, study groups, and other initiatives that help professionals build their knowledge and progress in their careers.
More broadly, the Chapter seeks to create opportunities for collaboration between professionals, employers, academic institutions, and other stakeholders, while supporting the growth, visibility, and long-term relevance of business analysis in Malta.
